GMP Residence

Location: Yorba Linda, CA

Size: 9,300 SF

Year 2016-2022

Status: unbuilt
Team: Axel Schmitzberger, Randi Riggs, Cooper, Justin Tingue, Chris Lowe, Garet Ammerman

The project is a response to several challenges: A steep 143,000 sf site with a significant amount of landslide designation and a physically impaired client who enjoys outdoor activities in the hot and windy Yorba Linda hillsides. The Y-shape of the building accommodates restrictions and allows a logical structuring of three different areas of privacy: living, entertaining, and sleeping, divided over two stories. The forked courtyard creates a wind-protected exterior that is partially shaded by the
building itself
